The UK News Reporter is currently looking for freelance writers who want to contribute news stories to this website.
We are particularly interested in aspiring writers who would like to gain experience of writing news articles and seeing their work in print. Student journalists, reporters and pensioners in search of an outlet for their creativity and interests would be particularly welcome here.
The advantage of having your work published by us is that you immediately become a published author on a national medium that is recognised by Google as an official news source.
This is a good opportunity for people who want to build a reputation and to get their work published.
Cub Reporter Requirements:
- You must write NEWS stories – who, what, when and where are all of interest to us. We are NOT interested in “how” or “how to” stories.
- You will be required to write good English – “native speaker” standard is essential.
- All your stories must be 200 – 500 words in length.
- All stories must be topical.
- Stories must NOT be scraped off other websites. Any journalist found doing this will immediately be banned.
- Your stories must be in one of the categories about which we publish news. These are listed just below the masthead banner above – e.g. Business, Energy, Entertainment etc.
- You will not be required to submit photos.
- All your submissions will be edited by our editorial team.
Your Application:
- To apply, simply submit a news article that meets the above “Requirements” to uknewsre[at]UkNewsReporter.co.uk
- Include your profile e.g.: e-mail address, age, m/f, interests, background, experience, in not more than 300 words. Clarity and brevity will score more highly than verbosity.
- You will be notified if your article is accepted for publication.
N.B. This is not a get-rich-quick scheme. It is unlikely that you will earn a lot of money in the short term as a freelance reporter. As we say above – this is a good opportunity for people who want to build a reputation and to get their work published.
Once we have accepted 5 of your articles, and we have evidence that you can produce articles of the quality that we require, we will discuss with you the various remuneration opportunities that we can offer you as a Cub Reporter.
