Fashion Q&A Website Launched

Posted By Guest Author on Apr 12th, 2010 in Featured News, Technology

The first fashion website that gives you real-time answers to any fashion question is launching today. Glamour magazine and Like.com have unveiled WhatToWear.com, the new interactive Q&A site where visitors get quick tips from the pros: Glamour experts, celebrity stylists Nicole Chavez and others, well-known fashion bloggers, as well as the extended fashion community.

In addition to providing free, personalized expert answers to every fashion question, What To Wear is giving visitors visual answers, with photos of products and styled outfits that visitors can buy directly from online retailers. Using the proprietary “Style Visualization” technology, stylists can explain in pictures what before was reserved to flat text, adding a deeper dimension to traditional Q&A sites and allowing anyone to feel as styled as a red-carpet star.

In addition to having an army of Glamour stylists ready to deploy personalized fashion advice from their distinct point of view, What To Wear has top fashion stylists like Nicole Chavez, Tammy Eckenswiller and Andre Austin — who have dressed the stars on the silver screen and the red carpet — on board to dish out their own dos and don’ts. In preparation for launch, What To Wear stylists have been fielding fashion questions on Twitter. Proving that no question is too bizarre or specific, they have tackled thousands of fashion queries, such as:

I wear high heels everywhere I go, but how can I wear them to the beach without looking over-the-top?
I have seen a bunch of striped tank dresses on the street lately and I think they are cute, but are they in style for summer 2010?
What kind of pants can I wear to keep my tummy looking thin and avoid the muffin top?

“Millions of style questions are asked on Yahoo! Answers every day, but never before have they been answered by top stylists and experts from one of America’s leading magazines,” says Munjal Shah, CEO of Like.com.
